Meet The Team


Dr. Adrienne Bennett

Veterinarian DVM

Dr Bennett grew up in southern California, acquiring her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis, in 2004. She has a small hobby farm on the island with sheep, goats, chickens, horses, and ducks. She also has several cats and dogs that share her farm with her and her husband Terry. Dr. Bennett competes in dressage and trail rides with her horses, and is a certified scuba diver. 


Dr. Jayne McKelvy

Veterinarian DVM

Dr. McKelvy has been providing vet care to Whidbey Island pets since earning her DVM degree from Washington State University in 2002.  She and her husband have a small farm with horses, sheep, chickens, cats & dogs.  She has a particular love for herding dog breeds and has competed in sheep herding trials with her Australian Kelpies.  Lately she has spent more time gardening, hiking and fishing with her husband.  She also loves creating watercolor and graphite pencil portraits of people and animals. 


Julie Cathey

Licensed Veterinary Technician/Manager

Julie has over 20 years of veterinary experience and earned her veterinary technician degree in 2010. She currently works closely with Dr. Bennett and Dr McKelvy as their sole LVT as well as manages the everyday clinic operations.  Julie loves spending her off time riding motorcycles with her husband and snuggling with their dogs Fiona, Fergus and Bodhizafa. 


Melany Cone

Veterinary Technician


Melany is born and bred Whidbey Islander. She joined the WVHC team in May of 2020 after 4 years of experience in the veterinary field. She is a compassionate and experienced veterinary assistant with a special interest in monitoring and managing anesthesia. She enjoys story based video games and spending her weekends lure coursing with her Italian Greyhound Renzo.

 


Abby Lang

Veterinary Assistant

Abby has lived on Whidbey Island all of her life. She is a cheerful veterinary assistant that brings a lot of energy to the team. She loves barrel racing on her horse Chyanne and playing fetch with her puppy Kylo. 


Stephanine Cone

Receptionist

Stephanie is born and bred Whidbey Islander.  She brings 25 years of customer service and looks forward to helping you and your pets and is the newest member of our team.  She enjoys adventure and traveling with road trips as her favorite!


Sweetie Pie

Clinic Cat

Sweetie Pie joined the team in March of 2022 and takes great pride in her work. She is rarely seen to the naked eye, due to her previous training as a ninja. She currently enjoys anything that resembles a cave, wet food and the occasional zoomies through the clinic!
